I Finally Finished the Best Show in the World (In My Opinion)
Hey Guys!
Well, I finally did it. After six whole months of watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S., I finally finished the series last night. I was SOBBING!!!! Friends has the perfect dynamic of funny and serious. It moves slow enough that I can watch any episode and understand what is going on, but also, just fast enough that I don’t get bored.
Okay, real talk, I am a major re-watcher of shows and movies. I was talking to my best friend earlier today, and I was saying how I wanted to get a count on how many times I have watched Aquamarine and The Wizard of Oz (my two favorite movies of all time). I say this because I get bashed for it quite a bit by my parents and friends. They just don’t understand the comfort in rewatching things. So, let me explain…
1. There is no fear-factor of the unknown
I HATE surprises, unless I know it's coming. Which sounds ironic but it happens. The point is I want to know what's happening so I can prepare accordingly. Like if you took me on a “surprise” trip and I was wearing shorts for skiing. I just like to know what I'm getting into. And when it comes to rewatching I don't have to worry about what's going to happen. I can just enjoy the movie, show, or even book.
2. Seeing things you didn’t see before
Along with the element of no surprise you are now able to take your focus off the main story line and see things you couldn't catch before. Now that you know how it’s going to end you can look at how the characters are acting and start to see the obvious hints that characters were giving you. You also notice the way the movie was filmed and you understand more of the dialogue.
Overall, I believe that rewatching is one of my favorite things to do. And with that I am rewatching Friends as soon as I finish writing this. I recommend you do the same, haha.
